The core product of Portpack UK Limited is the Containerised Mobile Bagging unit, which can be supplied in a number of different configurations.
The Mobile Bagging unit consists of two ISO specially designed and BV approved 20' containers. The containers are assembled on site for immediate use and house the following equipment:-
Upper Container comprising of:- Integral feed hopper to feed product directly into the weighing machines, screw type compressor to provide compressed air to the total system complete with air dryer, and main control panel with PLC systems.
Lower Container comprising of:- The discharge chute which feeds the weighed product from the weigher housed in the top container, into the bag held by the bag gripper which releases the filled bag onto the stitching/sealing conveyor. This is then fed through the stitiching/sealing machines and the stitched/sealed bags move along the conveyor to be fed onto the Inclined Truck Loading Conveyor to be stacked immediately onto the waiting trucks.
The model PP2000 range has two bagging lines. The output of each line is 24 x 50Kg bags per minute per line = 72 m.t.p.h. x 2 = 144 m.t.p.h. per unit. The PP2000 machine has a bagging line feeding out of each end so that two trucks can be loaded at the same time.
The PP2000 has the following configuration. Electro Pneumatic Lever System. Standard machine is electro-pneumatic 5:1 ratio balance system with pro-weights and Siemens PLC control.
Portpack have introduced a new version of the PP2000 which has re-configured the two stitching lines to feed out of the same end instead of the standard layout with the stitching lines feeding out of each end.
The operators applying the empty bags onto the bag grippers are in the same position as the standard layout, one stitching operator is in the normal position, with the other one between the conveyors. The version is especially useful when space is restricted on the quayside and two trucks can be loaded alongside each other rather than opposite ends.
The PPEW2000 machine has a bagging line feeding out of each end so that two trucks can be loaded at the same time.
The PPEW2000 has the following configuration. Electronic Machines. Supplied with twin loadcell weighers and CSW-20 microprocessor self optimising controllers. The controllers provide automatic self optimising control to ensure all weights are maintained to the set range.

Portpack UK Limited produce a variant of the standard machine for handling non-free flowing products, which could be powdery, flakey or cereals, salt, some fertilisers, meals and irregular shaped products. The Belt-Fed weighers which extract the products from the feed hopper above onto a two speed belt feeder which is then controlled by feed gates into the weighpan. This is a slower process than the gravity weighing by virtue of the extra control of the material.
There are electronic vibrators fitted to the inlet hoppers feeding the weighers and also pneumatic vibrators to each of the weighpans, that prevent any build-up and allow the product to flow more freely during the discharge operations.
